Guest Lecture – Richard Semelka, MD

Please join us in welcoming Dr Richard Semelka, Visiting Professor from the Department of Radiology in the School of Medicine at the University of North Carolina (Chapel Hill).

On Thursday, February 17, Dr Semelka is scheduled to give a 12:30PM lecture (Body MRI: Rare and Wonderful Diseases) in the large conference room and a 3:30PM Senior Review Session in the Resident Library. On Friday, February 18, Dr Semelka is scheduled to give a 7:15AM lecture (Liver MRI) at the Brain Institute and a 8:30AM Senior Review Session in the Resident Library.

Dr Semelka is a Professor, Director of MRI Services, Vice Chairman of Clinical Research, and Vice Chairman for Quality and Safety of the Department of Radiology at the University of North Carolina Hospitals. He is a member of the Editorial Boards of the journals JMRI, MRI and TMRI, and is a reviewer for many journals. He has contributed to over 230 publications in refereed journals and has authored numerous review articles and textbook chapters. He has authored 8 textbooks. His main expertise lies in cross-sectional abdominal imaging with an emphasis on MRI, with a particular interest of liver, pancreas, kidney and bowel diseases.
