1. Bronchonodal fistula: An uncommon complication of tuberculosis

This case report describes bronchonodal fistula, a rare but clinically significant complication of pulmonary tuberculosis. 2. Comparison between Dark-Blood LGE Sequence and Standard Bright-Blood LGE in the Assessment of Ventricular Myocardial Scarring: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

This systematic review and meta-analysis compares dark-blood and conventional bright-blood late gadolinium enhancement (LGE) cardiac MRI techniques for detecting ventricular myocardial scar. The analysis demonstrates that dark-blood LGE improves scar conspicuity by enhancing the contrast between scar tissue and the blood pool, leading to improved visualization of subendocardial infarcts.
The findings support the growing adoption of dark-blood LGE as an advanced cardiac MRI technique that may improve diagnostic confidence and accuracy in evaluating myocardial fibrosis and ischemic heart disease.
3. Using cell-free DNA tumor methylation score to detect and monitor cholangiocarcinoma

This study evaluates the use of a cell-free DNA tumor methylation score as a noninvasive biomarker for the detection and longitudinal monitoring of cholangiocarcinoma. The results demonstrate that methylation profiling of circulating tumor DNA can distinguish patients with cholangiocarcinoma and may provide a sensitive approach for assessing disease burden over time.
The authors highlight the potential of liquid biopsy to complement conventional imaging and clinical evaluation, supporting earlier diagnosis and more effective monitoring of treatment response and disease recurrence in patients with biliary tract malignancies.
4. High Prevalence of Metabolic Dysfunction-Associated Steatohepatitis With Significant Fibrosis in Primary Care and Endocrinology Clinics

This study demonstrates a high prevalence of metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH) with clinically significant fibrosis among patients seen in primary care and endocrinology clinics. The findings underscore the substantial burden of undiagnosed advanced liver disease in individuals with obesity, type 2 diabetes, and metabolic syndrome.
The authors emphasize the importance of early screening and noninvasive fibrosis assessment in high-risk populations, particularly within frontline outpatient settings where metabolic disease is commonly managed. The work supports broader implementation of multidisciplinary strategies aimed at earlier detection and intervention to reduce progression to cirrhosis and liver-related complications.
