Faculty Spotlight: Dr. Joseph Grajo

The Department of Radiology at the University of Florida College of Medicine acknowledges the contributions of Joseph R. Grajo, MD, FSAR, Abdominal Imaging Radiologist and Clinical Professor of Radiology/Joint Clinical Professor of Urology. Dr. Grajo is the Vice Chair of Clinical Operations and serves as the Program Director of both the Abdominal Imaging and Emergency Radiology fellowship programs. He is the CT modality director for the Department of Radiology.

Dr. Grajo has been involved in a range of research efforts in medical imaging and has participated in various national scientific forums. His work has contributed to ongoing discussions and developments in the field and supported the academic mission of our department.

He has published in numerous peer-reviewed medical journals, collaborating with colleagues in Urology, Gastroenterology, Surgery, Oncology, and Pathology, among others. His research interests include imaging of rectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, pancreatitis, and small renal masses. Dr. Grajo’s contributions have helped inform clinical practices and engaged a broad professional audience, including radiology residents and fellows.

Over the past year, Dr. Grajo has presented at the Society of Abdominal Radiology annual meeting and represented the department at the Radiological Society of North America annual meeting. 

In addition to his research activities, Dr. Joseph Grajo regularly works with medical students, radiology residents and fellows, offering guidance and support as they navigate their academic and professional development. His involvement in education reflects a steady commitment to training the next generation in radiology.

We acknowledge Dr. Grajo’s continued contributions to research, daily departmental operations, education, and international collaboration. His involvement strengthens our educational mission and enhances both the academic environment and the broader medical imaging field.
