Special recognition of one of our graduates . . . Dr Andrew Rivard, Assistant Professor of Radiology at the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) in Jackson, recently gave a presentation at the National Institutes of Health in the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute at Bethesda, Maryland.
Dr Rivard’s presentation “Building of a Cardiac Imaging Program in Mississippi: Challenges and Successes”, focused on the growth of advanced cardiac imaging using CT and MRI at UMMC with a challenge to provide excellent quality imaging. His presentation emphasized a team approach with the Department of Anesthesia to provide pediatric anethesia for congenital heart disease.
Dr Rivard completed his Diagnostic Radiology Residency in 2010 here in the Department of Radiology with the College of Medicine at the University of Florida. We are very proud of Dr Rivard’s accomplishments and look forward to his future endeavors.
