MusculoSkeletal Fellowships

The Department of Radiology at the University of Florida offers a one-year (12 month) fellowship in musculoskeletal (MSK) radiology. Our faculty include Dr. Charles H. Bush and Dr. William J. Montgomery.

Our MSK radiology program is based at the beautiful Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Institute on the campus of the University of Florida. We work with very active orthopaedic surgery, rheumatology, and physiatric services.

We are equipped with state-of-the-art imaging equipment for MR, CT, and DR and CR radiography. We perform large and small bore needle biopsies of bone and soft tissue masses. We do a limited number of interventional spine procedures, including epidural injections, nerve blocks, and facet injections. Procedures and advanced imaging interpretations are performed under close staff supervision.

In addition to clinical duties, the fellow has the responsibility of teaching radiology residents and medical students. Our educational program is enhanced by conferences within the Department of Radiology and also joint conferences with Orthopaedics and Rheumatology. We also have weekly sectional conferences and case reviews. Some time may be provided for clinical research projects.

Applications for the fellowship to begin in July of one year will be accepted through March 31 of the preceding year. Offers for personal interviews will be made upon completion of the application, so we encourage prompt submission. Interviews and offers of fellowship may be on a running basis. Currently we do not participate in the MSK Fellowship match program. Completion of an accredited four-year radiology residency program is a prerequisite for acceptance.
